the open prairie contains tales
of windfall and woe of wind blast and snow of acrylic countertop personalities and paper tigers with sriracha voices of hearts containing asphyxiated bluebirds and heads asphyxiated in propane ovens of evil men doing evil actions to placate the rationalizations that live within the metaphor called the heart tissue tales of life, tales of death tales of strife, tales of theft tales of shirts getting holes tales of kids without goals tales of falling power poles tales of plates and bowls being shattered in disasters big and incidents small but the open prairie is not the only place where the bagless vacuum cleaner becomes clogged with the remnants of human existence the depressed chemistry teacher may live on or off the reservation, beneath or nowhere near the city that switched the first letter of its airport code to the second letter of the alphabet airspace ABQ, home to an aerial BBQ seven-digit-seven, collision course unlucky Mountain West, Flyover Middle, Coastal East shirts fray and get covered in primer, underwear once crotched become crotchless due to the daily thigh-scraping called wear and tear Presbyterian and atheist, rock star or pud puller, we are united under the banner of story tall or small, long or short, the tales are plentiful and finitely endless no matter the characters we write with no matter the radix we count with humans are soap operas that become soap after the spirit escape, just ask Tyler Durden for verification death cleanses and the memory remains
