![]() HonestlyA Poem by Kenneth The Poeta grandfather passed on recently, a father, a son, a cousin, an uncle, even a friend he was the kind of man that lived and loved honestly, a man who found new life after the ones he loved passed on prematurely he was a knight, he was a connoisseur of the aging machinery he gave to his charities, he came to the milestones of his great-grandchildren on all sides of his family he was a man to be admired, he was a light in the dark tundra and now he’s gone, laid to rest in the shadow of a concrete frustum with speakers on all four sides and in the shadows of blades that turn almost indefinitely while the red lights flash in concord when night falls the descendants keep his memory alive and he lives on in their memories because he was that kind of soul a soul who lived honestly, a soul who loved honestly, a soul who was able to make meanings and marks on a planet that seems to be devoid of life and love during some days, some weeks and some years the headstones, the cold war relics, the towns that once had life seem to crumble around us but that means nothing when the lives lived in and around them are full of hope, joy and meaning he will be missed by the lives he reached© 2013 Kenneth The Poet |
