Ready To Assemble

Ready To Assemble

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

R-T-A they call it

ready-to-assemble

trashy pressed plywood

under a cherry-cinnamon-

black whiskey veneer held

altogether by a faulty

cam-lock system

mass-produced bullshit

for the good of the

American consumer

but isn't that what our

shortcuts we develop

outside modern education

are all about

or what our religious

systems have become

or always ever were

ready-to-assemble bullshit?

but theologians and philosophers

and intellectuals of public and private

persona started slowly at it

the original carpenters and

furniture carvers and

cabinet makers that

mind-crafted the popular

shortcuts and religions

we see today

ready-to-assemble bullshit allows

the groundling, the commoner

to be big in their own small

corners of this oblate spheroid

it's all bullshit besides because

two and two make five when the

new symbols are adopted
