Liquor Locker

Liquor Locker

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

quiet night,

the lemons and limes
plot the downfall of
humankind via Corona
libation all while they
imbibe the influence
of glycerine,

the Basics and Pyramids
and Liggett Selects wonder
what they've done to deserve
such harsh punishment,

cordoned off in
the silent corner,

they plot their escape
with their red, orange
and green brethren
from the Pall Mall
and Grand Prix clans,

and the used car salesman
appears from the proverbial
ether to consider how a flask
could aid his alcoholism further,

and the Manischewitz and
Mogen David feel out of place
like evangelical Christian at a
gay pride parade,

and the cashier goes into
catharsis as golden earrings
scream about bullets hitting bones,

just another night of normalcy
in the liquor locker

Gotta start brewin' and distillin' your own Ken..... Great sculpting here, like Mickealangelo, you see the artwork inside the block of marble.

Actually, these words were crafted on receipt tape between customers.
Oh...that is one of my favorite songs, Twilight Zone...I sing it at the top of my voice every time I hear it. Just an aside, because I was so enamored with this piece I want to talk about it ;-) How clever are you? This is a great write. "Like evangelical Christian at a gay pride parade..." A Jew a bum and a Christian walk into a bar xD (sorry, I always associate MD 20/20 with bums *laugh* I am old enough to get away with it) ;-) Great stuff. You need to poke me more often; I am easily distracted and sometimes forget how good you are. My apologies.

last car to pass, here i come da da yeah you get the picture..........
and the line of cars drive down real slow... .. .. ... ... .
