Ultima HumanaA Poem by Kenneth The Poetman in the strangest creature, one that has been to the moon and the one that has drilled down an eighth of the way to the mantle but of our absolute creation, our absolute existence and our absolute demise
we know nothing
absoutely, completely, wholly nothing
we are the agnostic species
we have sensed quarks and black holes directly and indirectly
but the "ultima humana", the vexation, the puzzlement that is us in the collective sense is the riddle wrapped in the enigma and the answer providedby the agnostic is the best one given the available evidence
humans are the earthen dark matter sensed indirectly but unsure about its very existence
we don't know and probably can't know
and that's likely why religion came into being
and humans will likely invent the framework that murders religion or not
we are habit-formers as we are habit-breakers
