Peanut or mouse or
whatever she is called came out rather tiny. A miracle in many eyes, medical or otherwise, she is. Mother's system is considered to be toxic toward pregnancy. The malfunctioning machine caused her siblings to leave this world early. So she is alone for now, saved with the cerclage carefully sewn in. Mother struggled so much to bring the peanut to almost forty weeks. And she did carry, and the peanut came pre-four and seventy days. Born into hostile circumstances, she was locked into plastic. Night after night and day after day, her mother and father stood by. Stood by watching her grow from a tiny two pounds into five big pounds. She bonded with them instantly and the love went upward from there. As she grew, she went to breast and needed little help from the breather. Now, two months after discharge, the peanut giggles and coos happily. She follows her dad with her eyes as he moves from left side to right side. She lights up with life as the fuzzy bird wings make loud crinkle noises. And father dances with her so she falls asleep to goofy music. And mother makes her smile, lighting up both hearts and faces with much joy. © 2012 Kenneth The PoetReviews
