“She was a good Christian woman” the minister said as he addressed the 200 mourners. Minister Ralph wept and tried to regain his composer as he eulogized Eleanor Yant.  He said “She gave of herself without question.  She would give her last dollar to a stranger; if she had it.  Eleanor tried to be kind to everyone she met; even though she would deny it.  Her humility and humbleness is lesson that all us Christians can learn and she will be sorely missed” and he bowed his head to pray.  He prayed “Dear lord, please take Eleanor into your warm and guiding hands and help her find her way to the peace she deserves.  Lord! Eleanor was your humble servant and she accepted your love into her heart and was testimony for all other Christians.  May she rest in peace.  Amen!”

Eleanor watched as her spirit hovered above the congregation.  Then Eleanor felt this warm feeling consume her.  She turned her head and noticed this bright beautiful light beckoning her to come.  She looked one last time at her family and friends and smiled as she whispered “I’m going home now and don’t be sad because I will be in the hands of our Lord Jesus.  I won’t cry anymore from the pain that cancer inflicted on me.  God will keep me safe and bring me alongside the green pastures.  I will be in the arms of God because I am his humble sheep and this is where I belong.” She followed the path of light and she wasn’t afraid.  She was going home.

When Eleanor arrived at the gates of Heaven, she was overcome with excitement and anticipation as she studied the tall golden bars that stood in front of her.  Her attention then shifted to a sound; soft and gentle as a doves wings.  She wondered what the sound might have been and she looked and it was God opening up “The Book of Life”.  She sheepishly walked in front of God and bowed her head at his omnificence.  As God reviewed her life and her deeds, he was pleased by the acts of altruism and he granted her passage into his Kingdom.

Eleanor whispered “The Kingdom of God” and she kept moving forward.  She followed a beautiful cloud covered path to a mansion with her name edged in gold above the doorway.  She entered the mansion; her home.  She was amazed by the beauty.  The staircases and floors were marble; the finest stone work she’d ever seen.  She slowly investigated each room and was astounded by the craftsmanship of the construction.  The rooms had satin bed coverings and every room had the view of paradise; oceans and mountains of enormous length and size.  In the master bedroom on top of her bed laid a crown made of the finest jewels; diamonds, pearls, rubies and emeralds.  She put the crown on her head and it fit perfectly.  The crown was made for her.

There was a note on the bed where she had lifted the crown and it read “In the room to the left of your bedroom carries the rewards of all of your good deeds.  Enjoy these rewards for you have earned them my child.”  Eleanor was so excited to see what she had earned, but her humility reminded her that she was not worthy of such wonderful gifts bestowed upon her by her heavenly father.

She walked to the door and turned the silver door knob and entered the room where God had sent her.  There on the table, the walls and on the floor stacked as high has she could see were the crowns she was rewarded for each good deed she had done.  She fell to her knees by the sheer magnitude of it and her eyes shielded by the glow of the gems glistening together.  She praised God.  But, she must ask him how someone as simple as her could be rewarded in such a majestic way.

She approached God and kneeled at his feet.  She said to God “Lord, why was a rewarded with such fine jewels and a mansion?” God said “You were rewarded my child because of your kindness and good deeds.  Your jewels and mansion are not your only reward” Confused Eleanor raised her eyes to meet Gods and she humbly said “What other rewards could I possibly be given Lord?  You’ve given so much already?” God warmly said “You are rewarded further by never having to shed another tear, feel sorrow or pain.  You my child are rewarded by being reunited with your loved ones that have entered the Kingdom of God before you.  Your loved ones are waiting for you in your mansion.”  She thanked God for his generosity and kindness and ran home to her beautiful mansion and crowns and with a quick motion; she opened the door of her home in the Kingdom of God and was welcomed by all the people she prayed for when they died.  Her reward for good deeds was sweet in the arms of God and well placed in his Kingdom.
