Poetry can have so many definitions . Each poet write from diffirent reasons and inspirations. I don't call my writing poetry more like thoughts at poetic forms. At my writing i use improvisations and find it meaning in no logic and sensations. Each writing have vallue on they own. You know how your writing is good or how is bad . You don't need aprovall from readers or critics. Honestly i find it mostly on this web site. People just exchange compliments then real honest feed backs. So many reviews here are really fake. I don't play this game.
Hello Chaos I ask this question often myself... the more I delve into that question the more questions I get:) I must say that upon the ponder of it, I start to realize the lines get fuzzier tween the mediums of expression as I read a write and witness a painting and hear a song or gaze a photograph the definitions become obscured as to what is art and what is poetry. I am a hybrid of sorts I make music and write poetry and lyrics and sing and I make art out of garbage. The more I delve the more I realize most everything has a beauty it is our jobs to tease it out for others to see and do so in a way that it is there experience and hence there ownership. I love your feelings in this arena I strongly believe in fostering the creativity in fellow artist and enjoy watching the common threads unfold in the collective weave of authorship. very nice to meet you:)
A poem is form, meter, rhyme, love, passion, pain, joy, shared on a page for all to bear witness.
If we ask if our work is good; does that truly mean it is not? Or is it an attempt to gain the critique of form, meter, rhyme, love, passion, pain, joy, shared on a page and ENTRUSTED to other poets that are familiar and can offer their creative insight? Poetic sanctuary perhaps?
As poets aren’t we the ones that are better equipped to look into the heart of a fellow poet and find meaning? Doesn’t that have value? Shouldn’t we help other poets grow and create great works? How do we know that our creative constructive feelings wouldn’t inspire someone to give all. Build trust? Inspire? Encourage poets to come out of the darkness, step over the quick sand of insecurity and feel the warmth of acceptance?
Could we be inspiring the next Poe? Yes!!!
Don’t judge! Accept, share and feel your experiences. Share them!!
Just my two cents and by today’s standards? It’s worth less than....
