Lost and FoundA Screenplay by al the ausomething I wrote in a whimINT. NEW YORK CITY APARTMENT BEDROOM
The room is enshrouded in darkness with only a pinch of light leaking through the blinds in the room’s only window. An alarm rings for a moment before ARTHUR hits the snooze button. He takes a big sigh. He props his laptop open and winces as the bright light hits his face. Arthur rubs his eyes and blinks a few times. He grabs a mug sitting nearby, empty. He sets it down and faces the screen. Sitting in front sits an unfinished screenplay. He takes another big sigh. His phone rings. He stares at it letting it ring. A moment passes and he finally answers it. ARTHUR -Hello JENNA - You need to get out ARTHUR - Oh well good morning to you too. JENNA - John tells me that you haven’t gone out in a week. It’s not healthy ARTHUR - I have to finish this script. JENNA - Drinking coffee and watching "inspirational" movies is not enough to help you out. Arthur drums his fingers on his desk. ARTHUR - Why are you trying to help me? JENNA - Go out, get lost. ARTHUR - What are you talking about? JENNA - Call me when you are outside. A click is heard from the phone. ARTHUR sits at his desk. He looks at his coffee mugs and then his computer screen. He stands up and walks to the window. He pulls open the blinds and a bright flash of light illuminates his face.
