Shadowed Figure

Shadowed Figure

A Poem by G. K. Bostic
"

Word list: task, build, why, shadowed, dare, feel

"

Shadowed figure

floating within

chasm of fear.

I feel rather than see

your presence before me,

building my courage

to look upon your face..

No…

the task is too great…

Why do you haunt me?

Shadowed figure

floating without

realms of possibility

You dare to appear

without fear..

my skin senses

presence of darkness.

Hear anguished lament,

glimpse despair, and

sense scent of atrocity

Shadowed figure

floating in mystic

Madness….

Definitely dark, haunting piece...obligations or maybe self doubt take on a spectral from...haunting from withing. Self pity, anguish, self loathing, depression these all could fit into this ghoulish form. So many possibilities that you masterfully left open.

Fears of shadowy figures in darkness, whether real or in the imagination, still make the nerves jingle and jangle.

This has a great feel about it. The lingering feelings of been between the realms, pausing to consider, push the boundaries and test the limits. =D

This piece reminded me of someone suffering from schizophrenia. Scary thought not knowing reality from delusion. I can't imagine having to deal with something like that. Having to face the fact that the things you see and sense are not real. Brings a whole new feel to the term haunting. I think you used the words very creatively.

Nice Write!
