Thoughts
of you
come rushing
into my mind
awakening me
like an epiphany.
Finally I understand
I need your gentle cashmere touch
upon my skin, and your scent to breathe.
All doubt removed I’m ready to be wed.

But lest you forget, I am a woman
who will always have need to be me,
to live independently free,
to say what I think and feel.
If you will let this be
your epiphany,
then we shall have
a union
blessed with
love.

uhm... Blessed is a two syllable word.

It's pronounced Bless ed and is an adjective. There is of course the word Blest which is a past tense verb of Bless.
I'm a stickler for the dictionary especially with word form poetry. Not that my writing is always on the mark. Far from it!

This is a wonderful example of the double etheree. Very clever. But, uh, what man has a gentle cashmere touch? Seriously? Or did the syllables just fit? ;)

Aside from my two small criticisms, Nice Write.

I like the twist you have added in the second stanza, clear message: I love you but let me be me.

haha I knew you'd have a go at this! you're a form junkie!! :p - as always you grab a form and make it your own - perfect form wise - and the subject lends well to the form here! it mirrors the epiphany of love - how it comes from nothing to build and build into the crescendo before descending back into the subconscious and questions.. will you? hmm!! nice, nice, nice!! bravo!!
