Morning illusion

Between sleep and wakefulness

Unreal melody

Song of the night now departs

Leaving dawn of confusion

Lots of feel for a short form. I think the moment when we hover in confusion between sleep, and wakefulness, is one of the mot revealing times of our lives. I think it is a few precious moments, when perhaps our conscious self can truly comprehend our subconscious. It is at this time that the "real" world can most deeply feel like an "illusion". Lots of meat in this short write. Disciplined and well thought out.

an ethereal dance into the subconscious here! plays between the illusions of morning and those darned melodious nights creating a dawn of confusion in the twilight zone!! nice!

I like it. What are the rules for a tanka?
