A Lesson for Ben

A Lesson for Ben

A Poem by G. K. Bostic
"

When a little boy has to go, he has to go! (Just a silly little verse)

"

I laugh as I remember

How Ben pondered what to do

Before he made a bee-line

To the woods to hide from view.

It was only seconds later

That we heard a yelp and crash

As Ben was whisked into the air

And all we saw was ash!

So anxious to relieve himself

He didn't see that rope

That yanked him fully upside down

And hanging without hope.

At last poor Ben was set upright

And said on his return,

That he could write a book about

The lessons he has learned!

'At last poor Ben was set upright

The lessons he has learned!'
This kinda reminds me of teachers asking children who are naughty to write a essay of something they did! Great Poem!
