Summer Nights

Summer Nights

A Poem by G. K. Bostic
"

Sonnet

"

The warmth of summer nights inside the mind

Lends soothing comfort, lifting humankind...

Replacing days of icy fingered hate

With gentle hands that rehabilitate.

No longer speaking words that so confined

That all who heard were left both deaf and blind

To any chance of learning or to find

Forgiveness for mistakes that isolate.

The warmth of summer nights inside the mind

Affords the opportunity to wind

The fragile strands of love that tightly bind

Our lonely souls together and create

A world in which our seasons celebrate.

Accepting without judging has defined

The warmth of summer nights inside the mind.

Excellent sonnet...
"The warmth of summer nights inside the mind

Affords the opportunity to wind
The fragile strands of love that tightly bind
Our lonely souls together and create
A world in which our seasons celebrate. "

Indeed.. I would settle for spring at this moment..snowing here, and 32 degrees..
Enjoyed the poem, and a thanks given out to Chris for bringing it to my attention.

It does seem so calming, the warmth of summer diminishing the chill of night; makes me want to star gaze. Great rhythm, flow, and rhyme!

Really A Great Write!

A lilting song about joy and bliss...The summer Sun as a liaison...For moving on...And finding redemption...

I like the first 4 lines best. Not bad.

May it be it is always summer inside our mind? Maybe in certain minds, yes, but I tend to believe our brain goes through seasons. The summer describes the love, replacing the wintery hate...but what happens when ice and sun coexist?

You've done a great job of conveying pain that is still present yet healing and hopeful.
