Comrade---We survived (Unfinished)

Comrade---We survived (Unfinished)

A Poem by Gabrielle Lyn
"

not really a poem but i guess that is what it most relates to.

"
The best people are hurt the most. They are cut the deepest, but when they bleed, they are blamed for making a mess. I know you, and I know you are one of the best people. You have more wounds than a soldier who found himself in no man's land. Although every part of you is screaming "I surrender," they never put down their weapons. Even when all your enemies have gone, you still stand, shaking, holding a gun that you are not sure who to point at anymore. Somehow, through the parting smoke, I saw you, a comrade. My gaze was blurry, making me unsure about the little amount of life that was left in you, because I too was bleeding out. But somehow we made it here. Left with scars, nightmares, and stories, we hope we can distract our demons long enough to last us until the end.
