Lay Down My Crowns

Lay Down My Crowns

A Poem by Mari' Emeraude
"

for Daddy

"
As twilight ushered in again the last of yesterday the glimmer of life’s candlelight began to fade away I gazed upon your weary face you smiled at me and said… “My spirit will ascend from here; leave body in this bed where I once laid my burdens, I will now lay my crowns the hand you held all through the night - the Lord will take it now I’ll plant my feet on golden streets and sing with angels too at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb I’ll save a place for you.” How I longed to keep you here I didn’t want you to go because I knew that missing you is all I’d ever know But I’ll share you with the angels, until at last we meet and just like you
I'll lay down, too,
my crowns at Jesus' feet.

Beautifully laid but sad as sad can be for the poet. Strange that two conflicting emotions, utter joy or desperate sadness is what makes a poet sing with all her/his heart and mind . Certainly when the person who most likely would hug you close and comfort you.. cannot but.. is there somewhere, praying for you

You have always managed to reach out from a screen and touch people. Even now you know others will understand your feelings, even if they don't how their pain.

Hugs and prayers... always.
The finish is a tragedy laid in a few lines , Mari'

I appreciate your kind words. :)
" I have no greater joy than to hear my children walk in the truth." 3 John 1:4 I feel certain your daddy felt the same. This was beautifully bittersweet.
