Ooh La La

Ooh La La

A Poem by Mari' Emeraude
"

The "younger man/older woman" dynamic and the conflicts it can present.

"
I'm oblivious to consequence
Do we even care who knows?
Keeping you a secret to myself
I'm afraid it's gonna show.
Doesn't it even bother you?
The difference in our years?
How you pretend to your friends -
I'm sure they find it 'weird'.
You keep trying to remind me
It's not that big a deal
I need to just relax and say
"We go with what we feel."

I'm supposed to be the one
With seething confidence
(But self-assured people
don't linger on the fence!)
So, for now I fall into your arms
And whisper in your ear
The bond we have between us both
Is stronger than the fear.

Thanks for providing this little peek into the May-December situation from a female perspective. (Old men with young women has been going on forever) I think we should love whoever trips our trigger, with "The bond we share is stronger than the fear" as our motto. Nice writing.

I was in love with an older woman once. Her name was Caroline Ellis and she played "Joy", on the Saturday morning TV show, The Bugaloos. She's 73 today. But back then she was a beautiful 21 year old playing a sixteen year old for TV. Sadly, she never knew I existed. (laughing) I enjoyed your poem.

Oooo-la-la, indeed, Lovely Marí ⚤

Been there, done that, and I can tell you how blissfully glorious it truly is to have enjoyed learning from a more fully enlightened, highly-skilled woman's knowing hand (so to speak), along with all the rest, of course! Did it last long? Just perfectly long enough! ; )~
How beautifully and eloquently graceful your pen dances upon the page, as vibrantly and vividly as though you'd actually breathed every moment … oh, what a succulently vivid thought!
I love it when a woman relaxes her resistance and resolve … just lets it flow⁓*

A wonderfully laid poetic work, Dear Marí … I love every word, line, and sweet image!
Thank you sooo very warmly for sharing You ⁓ Richard🖌

Thanks. You do the same :)
Age is just a number, I think shame and insecurity ruin the sex lives of too many post 45 divorcees. The emotional baggage is pretty heavy. We should all be having sex when we can in my opinion. Everyone of us... Ooh La La... Can be Delicious.

Must catch you whilst both online! As always you right with power and sincerity, placing words so kind to the subject yet always natural, understandable and to the point. For me this is a great poem, also has a range of emotions running through it. Would ask you, please: How old is love or sincere/honest and deep affection. Comes a time when love puts up its hand and eyes and looks straight into the needs and happiness of two people, not matter their ages. To the writer, Mari, who imagined how and what - kudos, my friend. Fact or fiction doesn't matter, neither does age, what matters is .. that precious bond.

Good for you. Age is nothing. I wouldn’t be keeping it a secret:)) I would wear him on my arm with pride:) Just watch all those mature women go green with envy.

I always found this dynamic fascinating -and wondered if it really ever worked long term, through t.. read more
Age is relative...we love whom we love...regardless of those differences...and people will gossip as they will....too bad they have nothing better to do.
If we happen to be someone who relates to both older and younger folk...
Why would that be a problem?

Liked the courageous spirit of the poem. Maybe I'll try it with a 20 year old.
