Some relate their lives to us in pictures
I prefer to tell my life in words
Most draw upon the visions the images display
I draw upon the verses I have heard
The eloquence that floats among the verses
transcending me through endless time and space
in subtle imagery I can see a far off distant land
without ever having left my current place
I smile when I ponder this elation
and contemplate the world in which I dwell
If beauty’s in the eye of the beholder
In poetry I see it very well
Some people relate better to images and others to words. I personally believe, the latter is a more complete experience. Words are magical. Words are thrilling. There's nothing like a poem to open our hearts and minds. I'm just like you and we're blessed!
What a beautiful and evocative piece of poetry! It captures the essence of how words can transport us to different places and times, much like images do for others. The imagery and eloquence in the verses truly highlight the power of poetry to convey deep emotions and thoughts

Iambic pentameter as it is meant to be used, i.e., imperfectly, not as a slave to the metronome but as a jazz tambourine player, adding or substractin beats as the music suggests. This is how Shakespeare wrote.
I loved this poem! It speaks about the power of the written word and the loftier eloquence of poetry so personally that I am certain the writer's poems feel like children birthed from a loving pen and stories read, like places visited. Love of the word weaves a special sort of magic. Your wand seems powerful at work here.
