The night you got down on one knee it truly changed my life You were just about to ask me If I would be your wife, right? Then I really blew it the times that I loved best were thrown right out the window the moment I said "Yes!"
Humorous indeed! Marriage can be a difficult path eh? I’m curious, what % of this is joking???
But in all seriousness your wording is brief and punchy (in a good way... brevity is the soul of wit!) a perfect length, with a real payoff punchline. Very nice.
lol, direct and a crisp point of view. I hope you have had some enjoyable moments and joys too.
We all make mistakes, which often teach us the most. Perhaps next time will work out better?
Unfortunately we often don't know ourselves well never mind the other. We are all actors to some extent: hopefully faith, patient love, forgiveness and seeing the best in each other (including ourselves) will see our relationships to a positive conclusion.
Delightful. A sad thing when the world rears us on the bedrock of idealism, only to bash us under the boulders of reality. Still, just think how sad to skip over all the fortunes and misfortunes that quicken our wits and arm us with beastly wiles. As road's end loom for me, I think I can see clearer now how we learn more from failure than fortune. Unexpected riches spend more easily than sawmill dollars but will likely buy less character and togetherness. Wouldn't take a million buck for any of my mistakes, nor pay a penny for one more. Keep 'em coming.
It's so true, marriage can be a difficult path. But then again there are its' rewards. I can honestly say that most of what I write is due to my wife. This August we'll have been married 56 years. 56 years of ups and downs, years filled with happiness and tears. Thankfully mostly ups and much more happiness than tears.
Take care - Dave

That's so refreshing to hear of a marriage lasting more than just a few years these days. Congratula.. read moreThat's so refreshing to hear of a marriage lasting more than just a few years these days. Congratulations to you!
dear Mari... once we commit... we tend to be our true self along with our strength and weakness. It can be tough, however, there can be a “silver lining”, if we are patient. Amen

Gulp!.... I sure hope 'He' doesn't read this then!
If only we all had the gift of hindsight. What a mistake-free life we could live then. Though many would argue that it is the mistakes we make that let us evolve and grow into a stronger human being.
Your words here are on point and without being 100 per cent relatable to me personally, I can, as your reader sense your discomfort from what is written. So kudos, for wearing your heart and mind on your sleeve.
