100 Selfies

100 Selfies

A Poem by Mari' Emeraude

It's superficial, insincere
until you want to bend MY ear
then everything you say - it just can't wait!

You don't care which friend I choose
(unless my friend is friends with YOU)
then suddenly your presence dominates.

You must be nothing less than ONE;
you steal the spotlight, hog the sun
If not about you, you're not the least concerned,

I must admit I'm takin' aback -
the common courtesy you lack
just goes to show how selfishness is learned.

dear Mari... it takes a strong person to carry a cross... but people can hurt each others feelings. It helps to share... it eases the pain. truly, Pat

Everybody knows these people am I right!? So aggregating. Relatable. Your rhyme schemes are fresh. I like how you write about real life so accurately!
