My impression after watching Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette~
The epitome of serenity lies just beneath the foot of me sashaying through the sweet, clean grass White linen bathes my skin my loose hair dancing in the wind billowy clouds, how silently they pass
Oh Mozart! take my heart dance playfully and light about my mind Mandolin disrupts the wind glint of sunshine blinds my eye fat, sumptuous grapes exploding on the vine
Brie, bordeaux, wild strawberries fill the bounty set in front of me my avid hunger puts me to the test To my woolly lamb, how safe I am amongst the wheat so tall and tan as I hold him firm and snug against my breast
Take me home thatched roof and stone the proud gazebo stands beyond the stream My duvet of straw and hay my eyes they close, my body lay to lose myself inside Sofia's dream.
Beautiful in every and more way, Mari! Over the years you have set so many superb posts, covering so many cores. Maybe wrong, but this hits me between eyes and in the heart. Words meant to read.. seen and felt... retain, memorised. Many thanks for your feel for so many senses - even the ones we humans aren't aware of.

This write is simply exquisite! It reads like a sonnet and is filled with wonderful images that tease the senses. I really enjoyed this and too, must now read the book (or watch the movie :-) I just loved this.

Wonderful story shared in the poem. You allowed the reader to fall into the words and the description. Now I must research and read the ancient tale. Thank you Mari for sharing the amazing poetry.

I love this! And I subconsciously pictured Kirsten Dunst's character reading it as I read it for some reason!

I didn't know if I'd like it because the music was really off beat for that type of movie, but that was a pioneer move on her part I guess. I fell in love with it!

I wanted to stand on my chair and yell bravo at the top of my lungs! I found this both enchanting and mesmerizing, like the performance of Kirsten Dunst herself. Oh Mari, this is definitely one to read over again and again!
