FearA Poem by Gavin KearyWhen you feel that tingle on the back of your neck, or you hear footsteps other than your own, you are in the grip of fear. The dark hides all that you fear. Death takes a hold on your imagination and lets it run wild. That hand on your shoulder isnt real, you say. Your nightmares take breath and dance around you. When you scream, they enter you, posess you, and try to break you. The cold is not the weather, but your fear consuming the last light in you. Don't close your eyes, but don't keep them open.
