8- The WarehouseA Chapter by Gaurav Walia8.
Officer Allison drove as fast as she
could but it was already late. Before they would reach for him he had already
made his way to his home through a different exit. Allison drove right into the Bronxway
Storage facility which they entered through a big metal gate. She parked the
car and got out before Vaughn, who quickly observed the place. He walked right behind Allison; both
with their heart pounding. They kept their guard up and searched for the
warehouse. The next thing that happened was
itself very skittish. Allison held her spot as Vaughn walked forward to witness
the beyond-expectations moment. There was no warehouse with a number
twenty-one. The place where they expected it to be was a vacuous and
treacherous that had sand all around. “I don’t understand this” Allison let
out. “Yeah. There was supposed to be
something right here” Vaughn replied with a similar expression continuing to
find some evidence that could back it up with some reasonable explanation. “We need to talk to the owner of this
facility because one thing is for sure that there was a warehouse at this place
but what happened to it?” “Call the station and see if they can
get us the contact information” “Got it, Detective” Allison said,
making her way back to the car while Vaughn stayed a while back to look around.
This was starting to be one hell of a case work.
Ross had reached home in the meantime.
He found a broken lock which he assumed to be a burglary or maybe part of
Amila’s plan, so he cautiously sneaked into the house, ready in case of any
danger. He checked his jacket for his gun but it was not there. He believed he
was stripped of his belongings while unconscious. When he was finally sure that he was
alone, he entered the hall with a block of agony building up inside, but he
knew he had to find a way not to let his emotions get the best of him. He
checked his jacket for his gun which was not there anymore; assuming that the
men of Amila must have mugged it. He happened to dwell his thoughts to
figure out some way to save Eliza and Hamid both from that vicious woman but he
was unable to think anything at that very moment… Ross knew about the power Amila had.
She was the only boss left after her husband’s death and he knew she’d do just
anything to get what she wanted. He knew that if he tried anything
superfluous, he would face some inevitable consequences but he had to take his
chances and do anything he could. Never would he have thought that this would
happen. It was the time when everything was calm and going just right, and then
he had gotten his family in trouble. He leaned back on the sofa and closed
his eyes for some comfort as the thought of the situation of his wife and son
kept bugging him. It was impossible to think straight while being this worried.
He was tired and restless. His headache wasn’t going away; worrisome thoughts
were the biggest obstacles for him that made it unmanageable to think of something
reasonable to help his family. © 2013 Gaurav WaliaFeatured Review
