The Laughter of a Bird

The Laughter of a Bird

A Poem by Gaston Villanueva
"

a bird with a distinct sense of humor

"
I laughed more than the bird did.
The height of a tree,
At the taste of a breeze.
I laughed more than the bird did.
At a mispronounced whistle,
The bug on a particular leaf.
The bird laughed more than I did.
The use of child labor,
At the concept of currency.
The bird laughed more than I did.
At the release of pollution,
The idea of superiority.
The bird looked at me
And we both laughed.

Observing nature, there's a carefree mirth in what one is offered and that's certainly a jarring contrast to what is experienced delving in the essence of human realities. Spotting humor in what happens to be issues of the others world and then the last lines, might be placing the pointer to where the real issue prevails, the source same as the solution. I love this specific poetic quality and the harmoniousness of the sombre tone with the whole. Neat neat work Gaston :)

Thanks Morgan, I really appreciate it!
The thought of them having a sense of humor is pretty cool, when you figure out how many times you see them congregated on telephone lines, like they're observing our every day existence. Great concept of a poem, Gaston! ...cool name, too!
