Angry sleep
Mosquitoes taking aim
115 proof Old Forester drew them to me
Scratching all night  
Damn neighbors moving yesterday
Doors open for hours
Pesky invaders took up residence  
Pay no rent

Yes sort of funny, though I know it's painful. We often get bitten when boating in the summer on the Thames. Biting you is one thing, that's what they do, but pinching your bourbon, well that takes the biscuit. I hope you flattened them and your healing comes quickly. Pleased to read you for the first time. Regarding the rifles, maybe a trifle of overkill there :) I mean look at the size of a mosquito. A swat with a newspaper should do it:)

dear Chris... I went through a terrible time with Mosquitoes this year.
I would have needed a Space Suit to avoid them. Just walking on my Lawn, they took residence on
my Legs under my Skirt and above my waist. You do not feel their Bite; however the huge Bumps they leave Itch and take forever to disappear. Fortunately, I have no disease from the Bites. I was also stung by a Wasp and that hurt my Dignity. Autumn will be much Kinder... I Trust and Pray... dearly, Pat

Only female mosquitoes are bloodsuckers. The males drink flower nectar. Only female mosquitoes carry and transmit diseases. Only the females are bothersome to humans. Only the females are drinking your bourbon. WWAD What Would Alfalfa Do? He'd form the Human He-Man Female Mosquito Hater's Club, that's what. Sign me and our gang up. (laughing) That's (one way) it could be translated. You could say they need the extra nourishment only blood can provide. You know, Alice Cooper wrote, "Only Women Bleed". We don't give birth either so that's a big consideration. It's nice to keep an open perspective as it sometimes provides an alternate escape route. Cheers, F.

Yes, quite funny dear Bluntinstrument. Gosh do I ever hate those mosquitoes..and boy o they ever love me...We lived in southern, Ca. for ever and not one mosquito..then to Austin, Texas...and they found me...
terrible..really terrible... Now in Spain and there are mosquitoes but not near as much...
Anyway, I did enjoy your thoughts...
