StarlightA Poem by Eliseon a love I lostThe stars are brighter in my hometown now. You took back the light you shared with me here and gave it to the stars in the sky where we used to live. Childlike, I had wrapped myself in your blissful light. Together, we would only experience the sight of Ophiuchus - gone are plans of staring up from frosted-over grass with you. These days, Orion should be bathing our skin with a frigid glow, but the huntsman is a sole star in the unending black night here. I only wish I could see it from our hometown, blindingly brilliant and misunderstood. © 2020 Elise |
