My Heart Beats NotA Poem by Billy RinkerA poem I wrote one day in my car while I thought about past relationships, mainly my divorce.
My heart beats not if not for you,
and echoed voices in my mind, they call me fool and never fancy, shattered glass this lover's pride, eyes have swelled, and flooded dry, and words like spears aimed at the moon, away they soared as thunder sighed, but the needles eye they passed right through. © 2019 Billy Rinker |
