Guilt

Guilt

A Poem by Galent Sail

Listen.
Do you hear it?
Oh so quiet,
Hardly there.
But it is there my darling.
Hiding there,
In the corner of your mind.

Look.
Do you see it?
Don't look to close,
Or you'll miss it.
You'll miss what's there my darling.
Lurking there
In the recesses of your mind.

But you know it's there my darling.
Don't you?
It's growing,
Corrupting your thoughts,
Twisting your mind.
And rightly so.
Me dying my darling.
And by your hand to.
The guilt.
Waiting there.
In the depths of you mind.

Interesting poem. I like the style--very bare, very stark. Adding the "my darling" has a great effect too, hinting, I think, to the seductive nature of temptation.
