Scraping The Barrel

Scraping The Barrel

A Poem by Gabrielle E. M. T.
"

This is one of my one mintue or 60 second poems. The rules for writing this is that I get a topic and have 60 seconds to type a poem. I can't fix any typos or errors. It stays as is. This is whaty I came up with.

"

I am staring at the bottom.
At the bottom of a barrel.
Scraping for anything good.
Desiring something other than peril.
Looking down into this barrel.
This barrel called life.
My back is aching.
Take out the knife.
Reaching down so far.
At my finger tips lies good.
Feeling the splinters dig in.
From this barrel of rough wood.
Wanting to escape evil.
Scraping the bottom for hope.
Needing to grasp something true.
Something to help me cope.
