Maybe Its Time

Maybe Its Time

A Poem by zwartenkot

Verse 1: Another piece falls
How can we survive this, when at every turn we crash?
The cracks climb up these walls
At the rate we’re burning all that will be left is ash

How do you say goodbye to a home you built with your bare hands?
How can something so familiar, feel so foreign?
The pieces of our life are scattered across these lands
As the stars fade, which one of us won't be here in the morning?

Chorus: When we've given it our all, but our all is no longer good enough
Maybe it's time to call it quits
When the seas have gotten too rough
Maybe it's time to let go of this

When it feels more like a chore to love
Maybe it's time to go our separate ways
When the wings have broken on the white dove
Maybe it's time to set all a blaze

Verse 2: Our love used to be like a rainforest
But now we can't make the heat unhurt
The weather used to be euphoric
Now it's dry like the desert

Our home is burning away
The walls are starting to crumble
Now I guess there's nothing left to say
Words and memories are piles of rubble

Chorus: When we've given it our all, but our all is no longer good enough
Maybe it's time to call it quits
When the seas have gotten too rough
Maybe it's time to let go of this

When it feels more like a chore to love
Maybe it's time to to go our separate ways
When the wings have broken on the white dove
Maybe it's time to set all a blaze

The fire consumed our foundation
We try to fight our way out desperately
Maybe somehow we can find salvation
Maybe in the end we survive separately

Sounds like things have gone way south. There is a time to begin a relationship and a time to end it. These lines indicate the latter is approaching.
