I'm Standing Tall

I remember when you made me lose my breath,
but now you only bring the kiss of death.
My world used to be lit up so bright,
but now the light is gone,out of sight.
Darkness filled the emptiness where
your lies only grew.

You let me remain broken, leaving all the words
I needed.to hear go unspoken. I smiled through it all,
never letting you bring me down. Oh I stood tall.
Even though you left me shattered, leaving as
though I never mattered to you at all. I made it
through, I stood tall and got over you.

You left me wondering why.
You wanted to see me break.
You wanted to see the toll your lies would take.
You wanted to see how far you could drag me down.
You left me hanging. Oh one day, one day
my feet finally found solid ground.
