One Too Many Martinis

One Too Many Martinis

A Poem by gabiaimee

From the excited bar rapture
To the tunnel that trapped her
Within its depth
All that's left
Of the joint's forte pace
A steady thump thump
A rhythm, a bass
Words melt into a hum of treble
The one who stands out
He's a criminal, he's the devil
I'm judgemental
I'm not thinking
I'm sinking
Deeper into the tunnel
Thoughts through an inverted funnel
Everything comes out of my mouth
Until a word goes south.
