Supermoon in Taurus

inspired by the supermoon of November 2016

She peeks between the foothills shortly after sunset,
rising, degree by degree in Taurus.
Her pale face, freckled with craters and canyons,
gazes downward each night,
a mere observer of mortality.
All she has seen and none she has told,
many nights turning away from
the center of her orbit, her world.
