Painted Ladies

Painted Ladies

A Poem by gabiaimee
"

Artwork is dangerous.

"
She spent her weekends in museums
jealous of the painted ladies
for they were more beautiful than she.
She would have liked nothing more
than to be told that she
was the prettiest piece of art
in the building.
One day these words were spoken
to her from another woman.
She found she was alone
amongst watercoloured Aphrodite
and was looking into a mirror
when the words spilled from her lips.

This piece was truly beautiful. And sometimes it's so hard because we see all these edited images of girls that are seemingly 'beautiful.' But I love what you have done here. Great work! Keep it up!
