I Tell You I'm Fine

How can I find the words?

I guess I worry that I won't see you

when you no longer have the time.

It isn't as comforting to hear "I'm yours"

when you could show me that you're mine.

I can't believe I could be so selfish

to think of asking you to stay

when you have the chance to do something greater

than watching me waste every day.

I don't understand why you tolerate me

when there's nothing worth waiting for.

How long will I keep telling you I'm fine

just to keep myself from saying more?

I worry that you'll get caught up

and forget to think of me.

because I'm the type that gets forgotten

and that's all I will ever be.

You deserve unrivaled support

in every thing you do,

and I am here to give it,

even if I am missing you.
