Values

Values

A Poem by gabiaimee
"

The inability of the human mind to even comprehend mortality and the value of time.

"
A thought costs a penny,
fixed value for a dollar,
many zeros for a home,
but what's the value of tomorrow?

I have witnessed the inability
of comprehension of time and youth.
Learn to embrace the mortal right
to choose your own truths.

I refuse to accept
my coming nonexistence.
Fixed value for a dollar,
but what's the price of a minute?

This one jive my memory again about the value of TIME

If you want to know the value of one year
ask an inmate who is waiting for his parole

If you want to know the value of one month
ask a mother who had lost her premature baby

If you want to know the value of one week
ask the editor of a newspaper magazine

If you want to know the value of one day
ask a patient diagnosed with cancer

If you want to know the value of one hour
ask a couple who are longing to meet

If you want to know the value of one minute
ask a businessman who missed his flight

If you want to know the value of one second
ask a bystander who missed a freak accident

If you want to know the value of a millisecond
ask an athlete who missed a gold medal in the olympics

If you want to know the value of one soul
ask the One who gave His life for His friends

In a world that places so much emphasis on monetary value, i often wonder who remembers that time is invaluable and cannot ever be gotten back. A good write that causes true reflection. Great job
