We Did Everything We Could

We Did Everything We Could

A Poem by gabiaimee
"

In memory of my grandfather.

"
Why do I feel guilty
for being so relieved?
I'm finally at peace
that there's nothing more you need.
The hardest thing to wonder
is how we will move on.
It cannot be the same,
but I cannot be withdrawn.
No words will do you justice,
or the memories we've shared.
Although we knew it's coming,
we could not be not prepared.
It's a little world of nothingness
now that it's all over.
A smile was our goodbye
and a breath was our closure.
**In Memory of my grandfather Carl Peterson**
