Silent Letters

Silent Letters

A Poem by gabiaimee

I still can't attach a voice to your words,

a movement to your profile,

a laugh to your smile.

If I were with you I'd have these memorized,

I don't want it to be only

every once and a while.

I'd like narration to your messages,

a non-fiction, first-person

anthology of your thoughts.

Until I fill that jar with dimes, nickels, pennies,

I'll make do with what I've got,

silent letters and grinning snapshots.

I've learned how really different the opposite sex is. And as the common saying says that women are from Venus and men are from Mars does sometimes makes perfect sense. The way they talk and communicate. Yes those from Venus ...it seems encrypted and you should be able to read between the lines and have an adobe acrobat reader installed in your brain to be able to really figure them out. But I love the imagination of the writer and author here. The authors thoughts and concepts seems so magical and so original is like a child discovering to fly instead of crawling and walking first...

A ton of meaning and emotion packed into one short little poem. It deeply but simply expresses the urge to see inside someone you love's mind. it's all at once hopeful, nostalgic, and tragic. Beautiful work

Despite its short length, this poem basically brought tears to my eyes. I feel this everyday, with my boyfriend 1,000 miles away, and I never know how to describe this. You took the words right out of my mouth.

Wow, I can certainly relate to this. The unknown. With the way we meet so many people online these days, this is probably a common feeling. Thank you for this.

These words are beautiful. Haunting and lonely in a wonderful way. I would love to see what you think of my pieces.
