perpetual sojourn

perpetual sojourn

A Poem by poeticsafari
"

The toxicity of water abides by the confines of our own intent

"
I submerge my head under the safety and warmth of the water in attempts to fade under the allusion of thought, to make amends with myself in a place no one else can tell what stays and go's. My aspirations, thoughts and archives of nonsensical information completely dissipate into the reserves of my mind. I hear the soft sweet serenade of a blue jay that seems to be attempting to force its gentle hand to make me look up, though the water feels so much better. My goal is not to be like the status quote, not to go with what everyone believes to be the answer to here and now, but to leave my own insignificant mark on the world. Its hard to say that I am not excited for the day shall the waters sharpen and leave me to my thoughts. Its easy to tell that I am not afraid, already my innermost workings are desolate, decrepit like a hermit that left his shell behind. Bliss less tranquility flows over me with each passing second as I attempt to breath slowly to prevent any further, unnecessary pulsating from my heart; even through it all though the blue jay never left my side nor did it stop its intentions of getting me out. It just stood there like no one ever before relieving me of the frustrations feeding me happiness to bode.

This is beautiful! I love the use of the existential crisis concept, wanting to leave a mark on the world and contemplating, alone with your thoughts. The only thing is "status quote" I think what you may be looking for is 'status quo' :) Awesome job!
