Roses

Roses

A Poem by Evyna

You were so sweet,
Just what I wanted.
Cloying perfume in the air.

Your petals soft,
And white as snow,
Untouched and unrelenting.

But as I held you in my hands,
The snow did turn to blood.

Your beauty left a painful scar,
Of thorns around my heart.
