You were there

You were there

A Poem by Ariadne

You were there

In a hazy fog, clinging to life

A life, my life

You clambered into

Omnipresent

Creeping behind a veil of nightmares and peripheral vision

You were there

Slowly pulling, stretching my sanity

Omniscient

Understanding yet still wary

Ever afraid to approach but still there

A ghost of what my conscience is

Omnipotent

A word you are familiar with but never

Can you be one

Because you are the past

A lingering fragment of my dull imagination

Holding to a thread that is my love for you

Slowly fraying, snapping

‘Till you become oblivion
