If the world were to end

If the world were to end

A Poem by lynne
"

Sad, but true. This poem is how the world may have everything for us now, but it won't have everything for us for eternity. I believe in God. This is sort of religious, but not really...

"

If everyone died

and the world

became empty,

do you think

that the world would really care?

Do you think that it would cry,

and mourn the death of everyone

who once lived in it?

Of course not.

Because the truth is,

the world doesn't need any of us.

To the world,

we mean absolutely

nothing.

Great men and woman,

people in general

mean nothing to earth.

We may think of ourselves

as better than other people.

We may sometimes be racist.

We may sometimes hate someone

who believes in something we don't.

We may not think

that everyone in this world is equal.

but the world does.

The world doesn't care

if we've done good things in this life or not.

The world doesn't care

if we're black,

white,

asian,

latino,

or any other race.

The world just doesn't care.

And I think

that in that case

we could learn a lot from the world.

But we're only human.

And we do care.

We care about a lot of people.

We know right from wrong.

we were all raised

brought up,

taught things.

We all share one thing in common.

And that thing is that we're all human.

We've all been judged,

we've all been hurt,

we've all cried,

we've all hated someone,

we've all loved someone.

We've all felt what it means

to be human.

Sure,

we have differences.

We have different religions,

different faiths,

different races,

different beleifs,

different families,

different friends,

different likes,

hates,

loves,

etc.

And it's because of these differences,

that people end up hating eachother.

So if we could all just stop labeling eachother

and stop fighting

and if we could all just try

to see past eachother's differences,

then maybe

we could learn

to see things from the world's perspective.

Maybe we could treat eachother equally.

But that will never happen.

Not as long

as we're on this earth

in this life.

Not until the world ends.

This was sort of just rambling. I'm sorry, I was kind of just going on and on about what was on my mind. This really has a lot about my reliogion in it. At the end, I meant that when we go to heaven, or hell, we will stop judging eachother. And our eternity will sstart

If only the people of this world were as peaceful, forgiving, harmless, and kind as God... We'd all be so happy. But that's not how it is, unfortunately. I'm sure we all wish it was, though. This was a great poem and I really liked it. You have some good points about the world not caring and that maybe we could learn. Overall, I just really liked this poem. Keep on writing! :)
