The Night

The Night

A Poem by lynne

What if the night had no dawn?

What if everyone just slept

and slept,

and slept,

from now,

until forever?

What if we are sleeping?

What if my whole life,

and everything I've learned,

was nothing but a dream?

A fantasy?

What if even the night isn't real?

What if it's all in my head?

What if the first kiss we shared,

wasn't real?

Would you still love me

if you knew that you were nothing

but a figment of my imagination?

What if you aren't real?

What if the stars,

and the heavens,

and the people,

and the animals

aren't real?

What if the night isn't real?

and the moon?

What if the beautiful

silver moon isn't real either?

I wish

that I could see

what's real,

what's pretend,

what doesn't exsist.

But it doesn't matter.

Because as long as I have you,

I'm fine.

(P.S. You are real :3)
