Home Sickness

Home Sickness

A Poem by James

Can you feel it?
Sadness deep in your soul
A feeling you can’t make go away.

Going through your days
Doing what everyone else does
Same routines, same goals, same bullshit.

It all feels empty
So hollow and fake
No happiness, no fulfillment.

A feeling that you don’t belong
Like a traveler in a foreign country
You can coexist, but never feel at home.

Homesickness
This is what I feel
I belong somewhere else.

This life
It doesn’t feel right
Never has, never will.

What is after death?
The same as before life
The place I feel is my home.
