The Choosen One, Chapter 5

A Chapter by Kaitie
"

Trin changes for the first time

"

His words ring in my ears as i say, "Are you sure?"

Aaron smirks, "I think i would recgonise a curly carrottop when i see one."

My hands instantly go to my hair. My hairs is the type of hair that hasnt decided weither or not it wants to be curly or straight, so it settled with the mess curently covering my head. Having bright ginger hair doesnt help my situation either.

"Its ginger, not carrot color," i say lamely.

he opens his mouth to reply, but a shout cuts him off. We shift in the direction of the noise and see a teenage girl walking with carmel brown hair walking towards us. I faintly recgonise her from when the pack gathered infront of the door before the fight earlier.

"Marcy!" Aaron exclaimed when the girl was close enough, "Where are the others and Hector's pack?"

Marcy pointed to the woods behind the house in which she had come from."They were just chasing the rest of Hectors pack across the border when i left to check on you and Lupas favourite," she says, adding some venom to the last words.

He nods, "Hector is up in the atic, half drowned. Just tie him up and drop him off at the border."

The girl nods briskly brushes past them, heading for the door. Once Marcy left, Aaron turned to face me, fixing his ice-blue eyes on mine.

"Now," he says, "if you are going to be part of this pack, youll need to be able to acess your wolf shape. Follow me."

Aaron cut across the backyard and entered the forest, me hot on his heels. He led me down a dirt path winding through the trees and leading us deeper into the forest. The thick canopy of trees let out tiny, feeble beams of sunlight that cast an eerie glow on the forest floor. It reminded me of those spooky forests in horror movies where the person gets slaughtered, sending a shiver up my spine.

We finally stoped at the edge of a beautiful meadow. The rolling hills were coated with long stems of fresh green grass, dotted here and there with patches of tulips and dandelions and occasionally a lone sunflower. A magnificent deep blue pond sat quaintly in the middle, the feirce sunlight reflecting off the still waters and back into the sky.

Aaron walked into a clear, flat space a few paces away from the pond. He turned and gestured at me to join him. I peer around the meadow first, to make sure theres no wolves hiding about, before walking over there myself.

"For the first month, youll automatically change to your wolf once the moon reaches its highest point in the sky," Aaron began, "The first time you change, youll be out of control, so its best to bring on the change now then wait for the moon to rise."

"Theres a flaw already," i remark,"You 'changed' me before the sun even set lastnight genius."

"The only exception to that rule is when you first change smart one," Aaron retorts, "Now will you let me continue?"

"i never stopped you."

Aaron rolls his eyes, but continues anyways, "A human is changed when a werewolf bites you, incase you were wondering. Anyways, to change, just picture a wolf in your head and will your body to change. It ussually doesn't work the first time, so dont be discouraged if you dont get it your first try."

i nod and Aaron backs up, giving me a few strides worth of breathing space. I close me eyes and take a deep breath in. i let it out slowly and concentrate on slowing my heart rate and emptying my mind. i picture a massive wolfie form in my head, like Aaron and his pack, and think of that thick fur sprouting out of my skin. i feel a tingle under my skin, but i ignore it and focus on the wolf. i image a bushy tail growing from my back and my legs letting longer and turning into canine haunches. i stumble, unable to hold myself upright anymore, and fall face-first into the dirt, earning myself a mouth full of grass and muck. i wait until the tingling stops before i open my eyes, and gasp.

Instead of the slender body of a thirteen year old girl, i see the well-built body of a mostly-grown ginger she-wolf. The fur on my back ripples as i haul myeself to my paws and take a few seconds to get used to having four legs. All new kinds of sounds and scents flood my senses that i never knew were there and my wolf body tingles with anticipation.

A flash of brown fur catches my attention and a rabbit hops into the meadow, staying at the edge of the forest. Once it spots me, it turns tail and bolts into the trees. i dash after it. i hear a shout from behind me, but i ignore it.

The rabbits fear scents floods my nostrils and my mouth waters at the thought of sinking my teeth into its warm flesh. i sprint the few paces between us and jump as high as i can. The rabbit squeals and my paws land on it and i bite down, hard. The tender meat fills my mouth and i savour the taste.

A heavy weight knocks me away from my prey and i snarl as im thrown sideways. Strong paws hold me in place and i kick feebly at my attacker, but it does no good. Hes too strong.

"Trinity!" it barks, "Get ahold of yourself!"

I recgonise the 'voice' and stop struggling. Aaron gets off me and i scramble to my paws, shaking my pelt as i do so. i stare sickingly at the half-eaten rabbit and retch up the contents of my tummy.

"Time to return home, Trin," Aaron says and loops off. After a moments hesitation, i follow.
