Secrets

Secrets

A Poem by Emily Murphy
"

Spring and love go well together.

"

Irrevocably in love

Two budding secrets

Consistent with the changing from spring

To summer

Evening clothes made of

Yellow and blue finishing’s

Sashaying in the wind

A formal dance

Behind the oak tree

Two lips meet

Two heartbeats faster

Than the falling sun

A love

A love so sweet

The blossoming cherry tree is

Envious of it

Secrets atop the grass

Like morning dew

Fresh with footprints

Two women’s feet

The pitter-patter

Of a heartbeat

Broken laughs

Behind a curtain of leaves

Falsetto voices

A birdsong of “I love you’s”

Ripped apart

By the coming of the morning sun

The moon and sun kiss as they meet

Two lovers say their goodbyes

And the day begins again

Once more
