I Have

I Have

A Poem by Lucy Green
"

Poem for English class, got a 100. The assignment was to write a poem describing yourself as the intro to the poetry chapter (I am very ahead). Lol, of course I fibbed a bit in the poem though...

"

I have danced with the devil,

I've disregarded never,

I've chimed the bells,

I've escaped from Hell,

I have sung with the angels,

I have ran with the mongrels,

I have swam through melted gold,

I've lived in the fold

Of pain and despair

And I've sat in the bejeweled chair.

But I haven't touched his face,

I haven't seen the race

Against magic and might

Yet I have tasted a fight,

I've witnessed the light,

And I have helped you through the night

Of your darkest of days,

I have sat with you and prayed

For a world like this

That we are going to miss.

Please critic! At least harder than my idiot English teacher did who just wrote "good job" in the corner.
