Life Is Just A Game Orbiting Who Can Love The Least

Life Is Just A Game Orbiting Who Can Love The Least

A Poem by Leena
"

A poem on heartbreak.

"

The snap of your bubblegum heart

In contrast to the silence of your room

Your heartbreak in the cracks of the ceiling

His clichés the only thing left behind

The heart goes through moon phases

Nostalgia presses its thumbs

Into your jugular

The air like water in your lungs

Your mood falls like Rome

Though you know you will not be

Going down in history

Love packed its bags and left

A cigarette burn to an open wound

Ice water spills from the cracks in your heart

Your accordion lungs are leaking air

You can fly but you’ll only go so far

He clipped your wings when he left

Your hand drops;

Spilling pills across the asphalt

This is what it feels like to fall apart.
