When I look into your eyes
I hope to reach
the depth of your soul,
to capture a glimpse
  of your makeup,
  of your history
to enhance my sympathy
to live what you've lived
to see what you've seen
to comprehend the
     parameters of your perception
to become familiar with the
   valley of tears, and
   peaks of triumph.
Then in a blink,
 if only for just a moment,
to fully know the parts
which when put together,
make... you.
