The ParadigmA Story by Friks... "He has issues." Officer: Issues? (skeptic look) ... "yes.. I, I didn't mean it like that.. He, he has problems with his brain, he mentioned chemistry and-and n-neuro.. neurotransmitters or something like that once.. I never really understood what he was talking about." Officer: What was he like when you last saw him? ... "Well... He was fine!" Officer: Nothing seemed strange about his behaviour? ... "He looked perfectly normal to me. It was on and off though. He would be fine for days and then out of nowhere... I would find him sitting there, staring, like he was in a coma, but he was conscious! He would look up and smile, say something. I could tell he knew every moment and that he tried to act like nothing was wrong, he would probably say it was for my emotional stability and so that I would not worry. He cares too much about others you know, even though it doesn't seem so most of the time." Officer: I see. Mrs. _ , was he using any drugs that you were aware of? Medical, recreational? ... "None. He did do some illegal stuff when he was younger but he got over it real soon, he was very open about his life and faults. If anything he despised the idea of using medication or any sort of drug to fix some illness or other, he insisted on a healthy lifestyle, period." Officer: Thank you Mrs. _.
The officer stood up and walked to some of the other people standing around, busy doing whatever it was they were doing. I didn't even know what most of them were, or why they were there! Everything that had happened was just so confusing to me! When it dawned on me that this was what he was talking about all along, I was shocked to the core. He had been telling me about this for a long time, and while I never really grasped the message he was trying to convey to me, it never seemed like I needed to. Now I know, it was all meant to come together at the end.
In life, there are many things that shape us and mold us, people and things that change us and make us into what we eventually become. We never look out for these things, but somewhere, out there, someone is looking out for you. "They just come our way and we take them as they are, never expecting much of them. What if the next person you meet, is the one who will change your life, forever?"
He always told me to surprise him. The surprising thing about all this is, it's not the end. For me, it has only begun. © 2011 FriksAuthor's Note
